Our jewellery is made using pure solid metals and no plating. This means there is a possibility for the silver to tarnish from time to time. If this happens clean your jewellery carefully with a soft, non-abrasive cloth; this may help maintain or bring back its shine. If necessary, you can use a mild cleaning liquid diluted in warm water and a SOFT toothbrush, then rinse with clean water and pat dry with a soft cloth. Never leave any of your jewellery in harsh sunlight as the sun can discolour some gemstones. Chlorine and salt water can damage precious metals and gemstones by dulling, eroding or oxidising them. Gold and silver are particularly susceptible to damage from chlorine, which can permanently damage or discolour them. Some soaps may also leave a thin coat on the metal making it seam dull, therefore be aware to take off jewellery when washing dishes or hands.

When taking your jewellery off and placing it in a jewellery box try not let it rub against other jewellery, as some metals and gemstones may be harder/softer and may scratch each other. For best protection keep the Kelly Jay packaging bag to separate your jewellery item.
